The role

Our HR Manager will be responsible for providing support, guidance and advice on our HR policies, procedures and best practice to our management team and team members across all sites.  They will also be responsible for providing HR generalist support as well as a quality HR administration service, which involves managing the full employee life cycle including recruitment, attendance, rewards and benefits.

This role will play a key part in fostering a positive, collaborative, supportive culture with a view to continually improving our employee experience. This is a stand-alone role, and therefore the successful candidate must be an effective communicator, demonstrate experience with collaborating and engaging with teams remotely and in-person, showcase excellent written and verbal communication skills and a positive, supportive and proactive nature.

Key Responsibilities

• Be the first point of contact for employees and managers regarding all people-related matters by providing guidance, support and advice in line with our policies, procedures and best practice. This includes providing advice and support on absence, performance, disciplinary and grievances
• To manage the HR employee life cycle from recruitment to employment end.
• Operational duties include performance management and development, training, occupational health, employee engagement and employee relations.
• Responsible for the maintenance of people systems and databases to ensure compliance with legal, health and safety and GDPR regulations.
• Prepare HR documents (offer letters, contracts, job descriptions, handbook, changes to terms and conditions of employment)
• Answer staff and line manager queries about HR related issues.
• Support and administer payroll processing.
• Identifies people / employee engagement improvement opportunities, establishing action plans and ensuring completion of projects.
• Helps ensure the company is compliant with employment law regulations.
• To help mitigate risk by integrating, enhancing, developing, managing and communicating an effective People Management System.
• Must have the ability to maintain up-to-date employment law knowledge

Required Qualifications

Essential

• CIPD Level 3 qualification and/or proven relevant experience as an HR Advisor/ HR Manager.
• Excellent administrative, organisational and prioritisation skills.
• Strong phone, email and in-person communication skills.
• Excellent attention to detail, good analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Computer literate – able to use office programs.

Desirable

• Ideally experience of working in a similar engineering environment.
• A good understanding of employment law and HR best practice.
• Understanding of change management.
• Previous experience in payroll processing.

Details

• Salary – £35,000 -£40,000 per annum, pro rata
• Flexible hours 25-30 hours per week.
